I like those things I just want to know how you find the time to do them. I mean with school, and all I find it impossible to do lots of things.

you want me to be honest with you? with the style of painting that I use (the "battered" look")this guy only took me a few hours total (including dry time, the basecoat was maybe three minutes, the detailing you just have to be patient with)and even then I probably spend maybe a total 5-6 hours on any one of these guys

As far as the depth of field goes, you just close the aperture some more (which means that you'd also have to use a longer shutter to balance it out). Closed aperture=wider depth of field. Must have been wiiiide open to get that much difference in focus in such a small space.

we tried that but ended up losing out on some of the finer detail, which was what I was more concerned with. the portions that are blurred out happen to be lacking in any real fine lines so you don't miss too much

If you lost detail, he probably put the shutter speed below 1/60 and tried to freehand it.
Haha, you know what? Whatever. I'll talk about photography some other time.

What'd you take that picture next to? I'm curious as to why it looks like a perfect white. Or did you just crop off the background?

asked him about it, the blurring was intentional, seems more dramatic, I agree
it was a white softbox

well, good news guys, I just got in the "fancy" shots in of all my figures, seeing as they're taking awhile to upload, I'll start posting them in as they come:
first up, we have the first, the 90 ton Zeus that you saw in my first post. Sadly, there won'y be any step-by-step shots, hope you enjoy them though.
