Rock Band VS Guitar Hero World Tour |
|
I have a PS2 and I can't decide whether to get the Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Kit or the Rockband Band Kit. What are the pros and cons of each? My budget is $150
I really want it to be an RPG thing, creating a band, etc. Tell me what you think.

Remember that the PS2 version of Rock Band is striped down and the RPG-esque world tour is cut.
I don't know about World Tour.
Essentially, they're both rhythm games.

Go get a 360/PS3 and then get Rock Band 2 and Rock Band 1 disk. If you really want a full package get Live/PSN and download songs too.

"no get guitar h3r0 wold tor cuz there's jimi hendrix!!"
Something my sister would say. Honestly, get Rock Band. Some songs are in both Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and I gotta say the Rock Band chart is much more better.

I beg not to.
The game instruments are fun and all, but it truly doesn't beat the real thing;
Game:
Pros:
A good way to kill time
Can introduce people to some good music
Fun
Good way to get people started on the very basics of playing a guitar
Cons:
Five color coded buttons that wear down after a few months of use.
Narrowed down to songs that you are given to play, rather than your own.
Gives people false hopes that they would be able to play a guitar since they have mastered guitar hero
Some controllers are generally bad and don't always react to your finger on the button even when it's on the right one.
Some songs are just many times more difficult to play on the game than it is to play on the real instrument
Actual instrument:
Pros:
No limitation whatsoever as to what you can play
You can create your own melodies and songs
A career can be achieved with it
Also fun once learned proper
Can switch tones
Cons:
Rather difficult at first, can cause severe frustration
Everything sounds rather shitty in your beginner stages
Expensive
Tuning
Restringing
Bridge adjustments
Obviously there is much more to list, but it is growing on 12:00AM, and I have school tomorrow. But the basic idea, most likely a completely unnecessary comparison, but whatever.
I'd get Rockband to be completely honest, guitar hero was fun, but it doesn't get much better from here.

Indeed, Reptar.
What people need to realize is that while both GH/RB and guitar are entertainment for oneself, like a movie and a book, they are completely different, with one based off the other.
A game is meant to be played; an instrument is meant to be played - but "played" is different in context for both of them.
Comparing the two forms of entertainment, however, I concur - real guitars are definitely more rewarding and more fun.

I totally understand that playing a guitar is way much better then rocking out to a piece of plastic.
...all I wanted to know is which one I should get...
