So yeah, I've been debating this ID/Creationist chick for a while now and the...um...authenticity of the bible.

And C404's as good as dead, so why not shove another subject into it to try to revive it (yeah, fucking right)

Anyways, this chick claims that when you look at a watch, you know that there was a creator to it. She also points out Mt. Rushmore (classic example). So, this most definitely applies ton a molecular level, and there as most definitely an intelligent designer dude that designed the Earth and animals and...us. Debunk.

Also, has anyone ever heard of historical records besides the bible about Jesus' life? There was this secular guy she noted. I forgot his name. But apparently, he wrote about the miracles of Jesus Christ. Too bad I can't do a simple Google search on him, eh?

Well, tell her, "If there is a creator to everything (i.e. Mt. Rushmore, a watch, Earth, Animals), then who created that person?"
And, "If there is no creator of that creator, then he must not exist at all, for, due to her logic, there must be a creator of everything that exists, or is said to exist, and there is no creator of her, said, 'creator'."

Point Secured, move on to next target. Here we go.

Creationism? Sounds like absolutism, or my definition of absolutism, where as if something happens in one situation, the same thing MUST happen in another.

So if a man created a watch, someone absolutely MUST have created the Earth.

ok. leading back to my point. then someone must have created the person who created the earth and someone created that person and so on and so on.

Wait.

I thought you were super-religious, Stasik? I was expected you to argue for ID.

We need an ID supporting guy here so we can argue against it. It's funner that way.

ID: Intelligent design

It's the rational psychotic's means of dismissing evolution buy just saying, more or less:

Yeah, evolution exists and you're right, the Earth is crazy old, but all this shit is too complex, too perfect, and make too much logical sense in relation to eachother(different plants and animals existing in that perfect balance naturally), that there is now way that this is all just random chance, god must have done it.

Because some people can't deal with the idea that:

A) the world isn't just some grand test
B) there isn't some all powerfull parental-figure who cares
C) there isn't a catchall entity to blame for all the evils of the world
D) xenu is a cockbite deity

A man once said to me that I shouldn't take the seven days of creation in the Book of Genesis literally, more like periods of time. What I believe is that God threw some magic powder up, let it all create itself, make sure nothing is exploding, and left us to evolve on our own to create another "universe"..
