The Official Stranded 2 Gaming League

Well, I was recently put in a par-ticularily good mood by a post so I figured it's time I announced this

a few of you may already know this, but I have begun oranizing a Stranded 2 league! as if the title of this topic didn't give that away Razz

I've almost finished all the preparations necessary, so I would like to notify all of you whom I notified of your rank, that you are now free to flaunt you're rank, follow Gamplayer's example

I'll supply more information in time, but right now I leave you to ponder how this may work Very Happy

Two things for you to fix up on the site?Stranded wasn't Luka's plan-we both wanted to make more or less the same game, separately (both of them manic top down shooters), so we combined the two projects. Also, it's S2, not SA2. Don't know where that A came from, haha.

I suppose it's will be the awsome expansion pack where you get to torture all the annoying Noobtards that accompany any game on a the planet

Will the squads simply be:

1st Squad, 2nd Squad, etc? Or will it be:

Bravo Team, Alpha Team, Charlie Team, etc?

the squads are Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Omega, and Lambda squads, teams exist within the squads but how they are organized is at the discretion of your team captain. each squad also has it's own "color" (red, blue, green, yellow and grey squads) which is really more or less the informal way of adressing a squad (or the actual in game coloring, don't know whaether you'll be able to customize your color in game), the captains and Lieutenant's for each squad are as follows:

"Green" Alpha squad: Captain-BFLK, Lieutanant-Mclovin
"Red" Delta squad: Captain-Virtualism, Lieutenant-Ilikecookies
"Grey" Gamma squad: Captain-Werts, Lieutenant-CowsGoMoo
"Blue" Omega squad: Captain-Gamplayer, Lieutenant-Redwards

you will notice that there are only four squads listed, the current canidate for "Yellow" Beta Squad captain has not yet responded nor has the second choice canidate for the position.

as for Lamba squad however, there will be no actual "captain" a manager yes, but this manager will not formally bear the title captain and instead will be of a rank equivalent to that of a lieutenant. Lambda squad is unique in that it is the only squad which will not be allowed to issue actual challenges against other Squads, the reason for this is simple...

all members of Lambda squad Bear the rank of either "Cadet" or "Dishonoured", Lambda squad is the pool from which all Captain will recruit forces into their Squads (I shall go into greater depth on this process later)it is also however, the "punishment" squad, any non-Cadet Squad member who has somehow either violated the rules of the forum or of their squad, they will remain there for a period of time befitting their infraction

or does it just take all the users' names from the forums and put it on stranded 2?

depending on what squad you are a part of you will include a tag on the end of your name, like so:

now to respond...

first off, it's unlikely that I will be on any of the squads, I might manage Lambda if neither of my canidates respond or feel up to it...in which case I may end up heading "Steel" Beta Squad (yeah, I decided to change it because yellow isn't exactly the coolest color).

second, Boy what the hell are you thinking, I'm currently the League organizer, if anything I should be making you my corporal

well, now seems like a good time to explain the challenge system.

as I said before, the purpose of the squad Captain is to arrange the grudge matches between squads, however these matches will be on the side and during the "off season", the season tournaments however wil be occurring monthly.

I'll explain with example:

lets say it's the first month of the season, the squad matchups would look like this:

Alpha vs. Beta
Delta vs. Gamma
Omega on break

during this time the squads that are matched against eachother will be fighting "Ranked" matches, essentially the players of a squad (or the Captain) will arrange matches with members of the opposite squad, the winner then will take a screenshot of the final score (each team should decide who will do this before the match begins) and send it to their Captain (or Lieutenant if the Captain is on leave) who will record it in their forum.

the squad that is "on break" however can (or will) use this time to plan, train and recruit (more on that later) arrange side matches with the squads or have competitons within themselves (at the discretion of the Captain)

the second month matchups would look like this:
Beta vs. Delta
Gamma vs. Omega
Alpha on break

and the cycle would continue until the Championship then the off season (when all squads are "on break")

How do we calculate the winners? I doubt we can keep perfect track of every single game between the two teams...unless luksy has a server of some kind that automatically registers the resullts?

EDIT: Never mind, I just saw the paragraph. How do I take a screenshot? Virty's Quickshot won't co-operate, the "PrtScn" button won't work (I try pasting into Paint after pressing the button)...
*sigh* I'm still excited though.

EDIT2: How do we win a chapionship? The top two teams face off?

EDIT3: Since I'll probably play only 30 minutes a day when it comes out, I'll probably be the worst captain...><. School starts in September.
